Welcome to our delightfully charming and unique cinema located within the heart of the historic sector of Bury St Edmunds.
Abbeygate Cinema delivers a quality cinema event; a tasteful and refined theatre-like experience with a strong mix of arthouse, independent and quality mainstream films. We offer an enriched Screen Arts programme including Bolshoi, Royal Opera House, National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company and Metropolitan Opera.

Our private screen and function room hire offer versatile spaces for corporate functions, private parties and local festival events. Our weekly parent and baby screenings attract mums and dads within the local community who meet for coffee, chat and film and our great membership offering is hugely popular.
Our stylish licensed restaurant/bar, No.4, offers a mouth-watering menu from just a slice of cake and coffee to a full meal. Our resident chef specialises in Canadian West Coast cuisine blending foods from around the world whilst using local produce whenever possible. Everything is homemade and we think our burgers will be the best you’ve ever tasted!
