Calibre Audio

Calibre Audio is a national charity lending audiobooks to anyone who is print disabled.

A print disability is a difficulty or inability to read printed material where someone is unable to see, read, manipulate or comprehend the text.  This can include:

  • A learning disability, such as dyslexia;
  • A brain injury or cognitive impairment such as head trauma or stroke;
  • A vision impairment or blindness;
  • A physical dexterity problem such as multiple sclerosis (MS), Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Parkinson's disease, arthritis, paralysis or terminal illness.

Calibre has over 15,000 unabridged audiobooks as well as over 3,000 titles for children and young people. Books can be borrowed on USB memory sticks or streamed or downloaded directly to your device.

Calibre Audio is free to join for under 18s and a subsidised membership of £3 a month or £30 a year is available for adults wishing to stream or download audiobooks. Our USB postal service is free to join with books sent on memory sticks directly to your home.
