Woodbridge Air - Squadron 432

There are lot's of opportunities for all young people between the ages of 13 and 18, have a look at what the Air Cadets get up to at Woodbridge and find out how you can join in the adventure...?

432 (Woodbridge) Squadron is a long established unit which has shared close bonds with the town of Woodbridge for many years. The cadets are drawn from the local area and share the proud traditions that make 432 Squadron the cadet unit of Woodbridge. The Drill Hall is shared with the Army Cadet Force which boasts a drill hall, three Flight classrooms, two offices, a live range and a mess room. Our Squadron strength is sufficient for three Flights, A, B & C, which Air Cadets are allocated to once they have passed out of the Basic Training Flight! Like our motto, "SWIFT & SURE", the unit takes advantage of the many opportunities on offer within the Corps, proving the cadets enthusiasm, commitment and confidence. These qualities are embodied in our mascot, the Cougar.

The Squadron meets every Wednesday evening between 7.00pm and 9.30pm. During these 'Parade Nights' there is a set training programme scheduled by the Squadron Training Officer. Normally when the evenings are cold and the sun sets earlier the emphasis is on the Air Cadet Syllabus and the Squadron Instructors will train Cadets in aviation related subjects to gain progressive stages of classification. When it is warmer and lighter outside more practical training takes places, including sports and organising the Cadets Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme training. The Squadron also meets on selected Friday evenings to take part in additional training. Weekend training and exercises are common at 432 (Woodbridge) Squadron, so there is every possibility of a weekend 'in the field'!
