Hello and welcome to Humpty Dumpty Playgroup.

We hope that your child will start their exciting educational journey with us. Humpty Dumpty Playgroup is located within Kesgrave Community Centre, in the heart of Kesgrave.

We take children from 2 years of age, regardless of toilet training.

Our current Ofsted inspection is a split decision of OUTSTANDING AND GOOD.

HUMPTY DUMPTY PLAYGROUP'S AIM IS TO HAVE FUN!

  • To provide a high quality Pre-school experience for children.
  • To provide a fun, safe, secure and stimulating environment in which children can learn through their play.
  • To enhance the development and education of children from 2 years to school age involving parents at every stage.
  • To encourage and enhance social interaction skills with peers.
  • To work within a framework that ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families.
  • To provide this in accordance with the Early Years’ Foundation Stage.
  • To actively support those with delayed speech and communication needs.

KEY PERSON: We operate a key person system whereby one member of staff is linked to your child. Your key person takes charge of your child’s observation record and will ensure that information gained from you and during the Pre-school session will be used to create an overall picture of your child’s needs and progress. You can arrange to see your child’s records through your key person.

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY: Children learn best when they are actively involved in something they enjoy. When you visit us it will appear obvious that the children spend a great deal of time ‘playing’. Play has a serious purpose for each child; it is his or her main learning tool. Play offers a child a means of exploring and understanding the world and his or her place in it. Our play activities are carefully structured and tailored to meet each child’s individual need.

Please view us on Facebook to see children in play activities, and for current information on Humpty Dumpty Playgroup you can also visit our website www.humptydumptykesgrave.co.uk   Our mission statement is simple: Play, Learn and Grow Together https://www.humptydumptykesgrave.co.uk/mission-statement/   Please feel free to contact us to arrange a visit and have a look around, we would love to meet you!  email us at humptydumptykesgrave@gmail.com

Support for people with disabilities

Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

At Humpty Dumpty Playgroup we ensure that our setting is fully inclusive to every child's individual needs.

Parents and children are invited to attend induction meetings at the setting with the child's key-person. From these inductions the key-person will make initial assessments and observations though our  'building a picture' structure to access the child's specific stage of development. From these observations, activities are implemented to support your child's learning and development. All activities are differentiated to ensure all children are able to access them.

If the child's key-person has any areas of concern, they will work with our SENCO and parents to support any further interventions where necessary. We work closely with the Local Children's Centre and health visitor's. We are able to implement a speech and language assessment in the setting, and with parent consent we are able to contact outside agencies for additional support

We use symbols in our daily visual timetable for all children, in the playroom and toilet area. All staff are trained in using Makaton.

All staff have been Epi-pen trained, which is updated each term. We are able to give 1-to-1 support to children who need require this.

Our settings SENCo is Jemma Coe

Helen and the team has supported many children and families with additional and specific needs, in ensuring each child's and families needs are supported and met.

Humpty Dumpty Playgroup can be accessed easily through Kesgrave Community Centre.

The playroom is bright, spacious and on one level to allow safe access around the room and into the outdoor area.

Any queries, and/or a copy of our SEND policy, please contact Helen on details below.

A fantastic playgroup... Rated 5 out of 5
Our daughter has been attending this playgroup for just over a year. She is always very happy and excited to start her day at there and thoroughly enjoys the wide variety of activities she is introduced to. She has made a lovely group of friends. The staff are great - consistently very positive, friendly and welcoming to both children and parents. We are very happy that we chose this playgroup as the introduction to school life and will have no hesitation in putting our other child there. We would highly recommend this playschool to parents who are looking for a small and friendly playgroup where their child can develop socially as well as receiving some excellent one-to-one attention from staff as they prepare to go onto Primary school.

Brilliant Playgroup Rated 5 out of 5
My daughter absolutely loves Humpty Dumpty Playgroup! The staff are soo friendly and welcoming, my daughter settled with no issues and loves coming every week. I initially started my daughter at Humpty dumpty at 2 years old after being concerned with her delayed speech and she has come on leaps and bounds and now speaks clearly in sentences! The staff at Humpty Dumpty are now assisting me with potty training my daughter by providing consistency and support during this stage as well as plenty of first hand experience!  Can't recommend Humpty Dumpty enough!

Outstanding Care Rated 5 out of 5
What an amazing pre-school, I'm so glad I found it. Both of my children have absolutely loved being at Humpty Dumpty Playgroup. The staff are amazing with the children (and parents!) and always go above and beyond the call of duty. I can't praise them enough! The activities the children do are engaging and educational, everyday is different.
