Thornham Walks

Location: Signposted from A140, Ipswich to Norwich Road. The 2,000 acre Thornham Estate has been open to the public since 1978. 12 miles of waymarked walks through ancient woodland meadows and parkland with its ponds and abundance of flora and wildlife. Walled Garden used by people with physical and/or learning disbilities and disaffected young people, New play area, various artisan shops, Beyond the Image photographic gallery, cafes and parking area. Car parking charge. Annual passes available. Telephone for group activities.

Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

We provide access for all to the local countryside. There is a surfaced path which is approximately 1 mile, which leads to the vistorian walled garden. Wherever possible we have removed steps and stiles to make the site more accessible.

Based at the walled garden is Beyond the Wall. This project provides training and support for children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities..
