Scope Independent Support Service (EHCP)

Independent Support with the EHCP process.

The Scope Independent Support Service provides free information, help and support for parents of children and young people up to the age of 25 with Special Educational Needs, through the new Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) assessment processes. This includes new assessments or transfers from statements (which must include an EHC Needs Assessment) and Learning Disability Assessments (LDA's) to EHCPlans.

The Scope Independent Support Service has Independent Support workers who cover the whole of Suffolk. As well as supporting parents, children and young people we welcome the opportunity to talk to providers about our service and are able to attend meetings, support groups, parent's evenings and other forums.

Our Independent Supporters will offer a range of time-limited support such as liaison across different agencies, support and advice on the Education, Health and Care Plan assessment process. The level and nature of that support can be tailored to your particular needs.

Independent Support is also available through SENDIASS (formerly Parent Partnership)

Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

Children with special educational needs have learning difficulties or impairments that make it harder for them to learn, than most children the same age. They might need additional or different help from that given to other children the same age.
