Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

We help children and families by inclusion into our Pre-school.

We have experience of Hearing impaired children, and staff are trained in how to look after the child's aids, one staff member is British Sign Language trained. two staff have training of Deaf Awareness. We support families in gaining extra support for their child, such as Educational Health Care Plans and Speech and Language.

We have experience of Autism, and understand that each child with Autism is different in there needs, and will require different support.

All staff are Makaton trained, and one member of staff is trained to deliver Picture Exchange Communication (PECs).

We offer extra support with children's speech, including IEP work, and have enhanced ratios to enable us to spend more time supporting children.

We offer small social interaction groups for children to help them gain confidence in gaining social skills. We attend SEND training, and attend individual training that helps support individual children's needs, this is sometimes done with parents so that everyone is working together.

We offer longer transitions for children with additional needs, this allows us time to observe the child with the parent is nearby. When a child is ready to move to a new setting, longer transaction will take place, allowing the new setting time to settle the child. A member of staff will stay with the child supporting and offering support for the new setting if they require it.

We are revamping our garden area to include artificial grass, this will support children who are not so mobile giving them a safe comfortable surface to move around on.

Our premises are all on one level, and have wheelchair access both to the room and to the garden.
