Suffolk Like Minds BSE - mental health peer support and befriending group

logo

We are a friendly, supportive group for anyone experiencing difficulties with mental health. We cover Bury St Edmunds and surrounding villages, also other towns and villages in mid and west Suffolk.

It's all too easy to feel isolated and alone when you have a mental health condition. Family and friends, no matter how kind or supportive, may not always understand how you feel. If this is you, we extend a warm welcome and invite you to come to our weekly meet-ups.

What to expect from us

  • We offer befriending and peer support through shared experience of all aspects of mental wellbeing, e.g. how our mental health affects everyday life, coping strategies, symptoms, treatment and medication, employments, benefits and welfare.

  • Our meet-ups are unstructured. There is is no set topic or 'circle time' where each person speaks in turns. It's just like having a chat with a group of friends.

  • Please note, this is not a counselling service. None of us are trained mental health practitioners. Nor are we part of mental health charity Mind.

You can find out more about us by visiting our website: likemindsbse.weebly.com

Please note: due to the extreme heat alert, we are not meeting on Tuesday 19th July.
