Yoga encourages the mind to simply focus on the given moment and to release and let go of mental tension through a selection of breathing and relaxation techniques, and the attention required by the physical body to tune inwardly throughout the practice. Opening back bends lift and open the heart, encouraging your mood to also lift. And, as with any good exercise your Endorphins levels will rise leaving you wilh that feel good factor after class. Several of the postures taught also work to calm the nervous system which in turn helps to calm the mind, and aid clarity of thought.
