Mrs Joanne Siggins
Childminder
My setting is a relaxed, happy, safe and stimulating environment, in which I do what I enjoy the most, care for children.
I was inspected by Ofsted in August 2016 and I was given a`Outstanding ` rating.
I am a qualified Nursery Nurse, and my other qualifications include,
Cache level 5 in leadership for health and social care for children and young people
Cache level 3 N V Q in children`s care and learning
Level 3 speach and language support
Supporting children and families with english as an additional language
Safeguarding children
Paediatric first aid.
The rest of my qualifications including the above qualifications are available for you to see along with my list of previous jobs/experience in childcare . My policies are all in my `welcome pack `.
I have policies including a `Special Needs ` policy which explains that I will do my best to accomodate any additional physical , dietary, religious or any other needs that your child may have , by adapting my setting and routine where possible if necessary and adding resorces , after gaining as much information as possible from you and by doing my own research into your child`s needs .
I have experience in all areas of childcare including: running my own nursery school, running a crèche, and working with children with special needs. For the four years before I became a childminder I worked in a pre-school for as a “senior practitioner/rising 5’s co-ordinator”, preparing children for their start at primary school.
At my setting I plan around each child’s individual needs and interests as well as their level of development. I provide activities and resources covering all areas of learning, including messy play and indoor as well as outdoor play and outings, planned for each child.
I display these plans for parents to see, they include daily plans, weekly plans and long term plans ,including outings, as well as a menu, and a suggestion box for parents/carers ideals, as I value your input into your child’s care, and I would like you to leave your child with me knowing that they are happy and well cared for.
