Dave Tonge - Storyteller, Historian and Author
I tell tales from the Saxon, Medieval and Tudor periods, albeit adapted for a modern audience. I also tell world tales from other cultures, seasonal stories too as well as themed sessions. With additional riddles and sometimes music and games, I like my sessions to be above all interactive and all sorts of fun. Education and merryment are not mutually exclusive concepts!
I perform all over the UK at festivals, fayres, museums, heritage sites, libraries and schools, performing to both adults and children.
I've published three books, 'Tudor Folk Tales,' in 2015, 'Norfolk Folk Tales for Children' in 2018 and 'Medieval Folk Tales for Children' in 2020, with a forth, Trickster Tales from Many Lands, coming in 2025.
Another great idea that won over the children was the inspiring storytelling from the one and only Yarnsmith of Norwich. He was actually exceptional as the kids sat circled and legs crossed in the Yurt that provided some shade in the sweltering heat.

Cost depends on amount of sessions and whether I provide my storytelling tent. Check my website for different sessions. I tell at museums, fairs, schools and to all ages. From pre school to adult sessions and I also offer storytelling workshops to aid anyone wishing to present to the general public.
