Sporting Memories

logo

Sporting Memories is a new project rolling out in Suffolk, supported by Sport England, and Suffolk’s Most Active County project, bringing together anyone over the age of 50 to talk about sport and their recollections of great sporting occasions.

The Sporting Memories is all about fun and enjoyment, and the groups use the massive collection of photo’s, images, film and memorabilia to engage people in fun games and conversation, reminiscence, with a cup of tea or coffee along the way. As well as the fantastic images from past major events, there is an opportunity to reflect and explore the local history of sport in your area of course.

From the World cup heroes of ’66 to the local stars of the village Cricket Club of past years, many of us have great memories of national and local sporting events, and our sporting interest may have been a big part of our family lives. Well here is a chance to rekindle those moments and share those great times and stories with others!

If you love sport, and love talking about sport, this is for you!

Areas for groups are Ipswich, Stowmarket, Lowestoft, Sudbury, Newmarket and other locations to follow.
