ROSPA Advanced Drivers & Riders - Suffolk (Road Safety Driving & Riding)

The aim of organisation is to encourage interest in road safety, to promote driver/rider advanced training, to improve road safety and thereby reduce costs.  RoSPA, The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, is a national organisation which has Advanced Driving and Riding Groups affiliated to it, one of which is our group.  RoSPA promote advanced driving and riding tests using external examiners, many of whom are Police driving instructors or traffic officers.  It is a graded test with Bronze, Silver and Gold grades awarded; to maintain the award a re-test is required every 3 years.

There is a joining fee of £20 and an annual subscription payable in January of £10.  All members receive as much training as required without charge from the group or its tutors.  The advanced test currently costs £67 for cars, £70 for LGV/PSV and £73 for motorbikes, there is a £5.00 reduction for those under 26.  Your first years membership of the National organisation is included in your initial test fee and subsequent years cost £40, which includes the cost of re-testing.  Any refresher training is provided by the group and its tutors without charge.
