Suffolk County Music Service (Suffolk Music Hub)
Our vision for music in Suffolk is to inspire our children and young people with a lifelong love and enjoyment of music!
We deliver a wide range of options for children and young people of all ages and abilities to participate in music, both in and out of school.
Suffolk Youth Music: the ‘ensemble’ experience
Activities in this programme are un-auditioned and provide many opportunities for children and young people to play and sing in ensembles. Taking place across Suffolk each week during term-time, we offer activities from beginner to advanced levels. New members are welcome to join at any time. Visit our website for more information.
County Ensembles: more advanced programmes for young musicians
An auditioned programme for Suffolk's finest young musicians. These orchestras and bands offer exciting performance and touring opportunities throughout the year. Highlights of the season include Suffolk Youth Orchestra’s European Concert Tour and the joint Gala Concert with Suffolk Young Strings and Suffolk Youth Wind Orchestra at Snape Maltings Concert Hall. For more information and to join please visit our website.

We offer individual lessons at our music centres for beginner to advanced young musicians. All lessons are either 20 or 30 minutes duration and payable termly in advance. Visit our website for more information and to submit an enquiry.

More information
Part of the Children and Young People’s Services Directorate of Suffolk County Council, we work closely and collaboratively with all Suffolk schools, delivering services to pupils and advocating the importance of music education to school leaders. The Music Service is the Lead Organisation of Suffolk Music Education Hub. Music Hubs exist across the UK and receive funding from Arts Council England on behalf of the Department for Education. All Hubs follow set core and extension roles, which help ensure that all pupils can have broad and rich cultural opportunities alongside their academic and vocational studies. Please visit our website for more information about our work, our services, news and events.
