Senior Consultant Play Therapist and Clinical Supervisor
Rainbow Play Therapy offers predominantly a combination of directive and non-directive child-led therapy using toys, clay, sand, puppets, music and art.
Play therapy helps children to make sense of difficult life experiences or complex psychological issues through the activity of play. Play therapy can improve a child's emotional well-being and alleviate an emotional or psychological problem that is preventing him or her from functioning normally.
During play therapy sessions children can release emotions, learn to cope with and solve their own problems, and make sense of their life experiences, often without having to use words.
Rainbow play therapy also draws upon and utilises elements of Theraplay and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy where necessary.
Specialist knowledge of adopted and looked after children and FASD.
