Local Offer
- Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities
As a mainstream school we provide for SEND students according to our school's Offer, which is on our Website. Students are identified through liaison with the Primary Schools and through internal assessment. A qualified SENCo leads the SEND Faculty. Our main aim is for all students to be included in the whole school provision, accessing a broad and balance curriculum. Most learning support is through classroom teaching strategies, although for those identified on the SEND Register there is some adjustment as required, both from in-school interventions and those using external specialist services. We aim for this to be in non-teaching time. Curriculum adaptation is made as appropriate to a specific student or cohort so our offer changes annually. There are also specific resources to support the social and emotional development of students and their integration into the whole school community.
