Carol Locke (Carol's Childminding Services)

Coronavirus Support

Setting is open to offer childcare places to children of key workers and for vulnerable children.

General Details

As of September 2020 I am only available for school holiday care on the days and hours advertised.  This means I sadly cannot offer full time care or term time care for any children. Or before and after school care.

I live in Kesgrave on Grange Farm with my partner Toby along with my son Jake (18) and our daughter Violet (4 years).  I also have an older daughter Chloe who is a university graduate and no longer lives at home.   In 2017 I returned to Childminding after a 4 year break as we now have a young daughter at home who I love to spend time with.  I had previously worked as a Child Health Advisor for the local Health Visiting Team and have received Autism training, Elklan Speech and Language Support and Anaphylaxis training .  I also have previous experience of working with children with Autism, Global delay and Speech Impairment and ADHD.  All my certificates are available for parents to view when visiting the setting.

DBS checks have been carried out on all adults within my home which includes my 2 older children Chloe and Jake. (Chloe still visits)

I have an allocated playroom along with a spacious lounge and dining room with a wide range of toys to meet different age and development stages from birth to 11. I keep an assortment of equipment appropriate for the children I care for, lots of books, toys and games. Free play is encouraged both in and outdoors along with planned activities such as arts and crafts and cooking to help provide stimulation and aid development.  We regularly enjoy outings to the beach, local parks and farms.

It is important to me that your child’s care mirrors that of the care they receive at home and I work closely with parents to ensure this is in place for the comfort and security of both the child and parent.

Should you wish to find out more about my setting please do get in touch and I can provide you with further details of holiday care offered Tuesday to Thursday between the hours of 8-6.

Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

My Special Educational Needs policy includes the following:

I will work in partnership with parents, professionals and other relevant bodies to gain information and understanding of a child’s specific needs.  I always ensure each child is treated as an individual and offered the same access to opportunities and activities and will adapt these accordingly to the child’s specific needs.

I respect confidentiality and hold a separate procedure for this.
