Orchard Childcare in my own home to gives parents the chance to leave their children in a warm, caring environment with the benefits of being reassured they are learning and developing to their full potential while having fun. I will be supporting your child’s development using the Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS) and National curriculum as recommended by the department for education.

I am Ofsted registered and qualified to degree level in childcare. I fully understand that leaving your child in someone else’s care can be a very difficult for some parents. I will work closing with you to ensure your child gets the most from the time they are in my care. I will in addition, make sure I know as much as possible about your child before you leave them in my care. If your child has any disabilities, a medical care plan will also be put in place.

I am able to offer full time and part time day care as well as care during the school holidays. I offer before and afterschool care with drop off and collection service from the schools in Botesdale, other local school maybe possible.

I will keep you updated about your child’s development and will write reports on your child’s progress while in my care. I will also share any concerns I have about your child with you as soon as I am able.

I will ensure the safety of all the children in my care and myself at all times. I will always carry out a risk assessment before I carry out new activities and keep updating these assessments at regular intervals. I will always carry my mobile phone fully charged when leaving the house so parents can contact me at all times.

Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

I aim to support all children in my care equally and to the best of my ability.

I will work closely with parents and other professional to make sure a care plan is in place for the child while in my care to make sure a multi agency approach is used to support all area’s of the child’s development to help them reach their full potential.

For 12 years I worked for Suffolk county council as a Portage outreach officer, teaching preschool children with additional needs through play. This has given me very good knowledge of child development and working with very individual children, some with very complex needs. In addition I have attended numerous training course to give me sound knowledge to support my work with children with SEND including behavioral issues, Autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy as well as rare chromosomal disorders and many other addition needs related conditions and syndromes.

I am trained in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)

This means I am able to support children’s language development in many different ways using eye gaze, switches and visual communication aids to make sure the child is able to communicate to the best of their ability. I am also trained in Makaton sign language.
