WHO IS THE SERVICE FOR?
Anyone living in Norfolk or Suffolk aged 65 and over, who needs support, information and advice around alcohol, drugs or prescribed and over the counter medication.
The aim of the NORCAS 65+ Service is to reach out to isolated and vulnerable older people affected by the misuse and impact of alcohol, drugs, prescribed and over the counter medication.
We will work to make service users feel less socially isolated and improve their health and well-being. We will also be raising awareness within local statutory and voluntary services of
substance misuse problems and help older people access suitable treatment.
WHAT WE OFFER
Our workers will provide brief interventions, 1:1 and specialist support in the community enhancing the understanding of the risks involved in problematic drug and alcohol use, as well as
prescribed and over the counter medication. We will work to reduce harm and raise awareness of available services and build motivation for change. Service users will be fully involved in the setting
of care plans and intended goals. Our experienced workers also offer training sessions to support local organisations on the issues of substance misuse in older people, how to raise the issue and where to refer when you have.
HOW DO YOU REFER INTO THE SERVICE?
We accept referrals from professionals, friends, family (with consent) or self referrals by contacting us using the information below.
