General Details

Home-Start in Suffolk is a FAMILY SUPPORT CHARITY.  Our vision is that every child in Suffolk is given the best start in life because of the love, support and guidance they receive from their parents, guardians or the people performing the role of their parents.  We work with families with children aged 0-12 years across the County.  Our network of over 250 fully trained, compassionate and non-judgemental volunteers support families as they navigate through difficult circumstances including Mental Health, illness, disability, bereavement, domestic abuse, poverty, isolation and much more by providing weekly 1-1 support through home-visiting, telephone or video call.

Volunteers are individually matched to meet the support needs of the family.  They are trained to provide emotional and practical support on an individual basis to meet the needs and the outcomes of each individual family referral.  We work closely with other professionals.  We encourage families and professionals to call to discuss the support opportunities for any referrals that need to be considered.
