Hannah Aria
Hannah Aria is a working class, neuro-divergent, mixed media Artist with a heart for social justice.
She is also a Trustee for NPO Unlimited, championing disabled Artists. Hannah graduated from the University of Suffolk in 2020 with a 1:1 Arts Practice degree and is a ‘Mercury Creative’ (professional development programme, Mercury Theatre).
In the last year:

Hannah has secured funding from the British Council to develop live art with Estela Laponni, (Brazilian Performance Artist)

She received a National Lottery project grant to produce an art for wellbeing YouTube series with interactive live streams (social justice themes).

Hannah has been awarded a ’Developing Your Creative Practice’ grant from Arts Council England and is exploring playwriting, improv theatre, oil painting as a medium and neurodivergent creative perspectives in portraiture and performance. She will be undertaking a playwriting course with Ink Festival this month and will then join the ‘Let Me Be’ cohort with Graeae Theatre Company in February 2022. Hannah is also learning BSL level 1.

She has curated the ‘New Faces’ exhibition for Ipswich Art Society encouraging a widening of participation and representation. An installation based on street performance with photographer John Ferguson is on display and refers to her personal narrative of homelessness and social mobility. She also plans to wear a performance art/protest dress to the private view (Think MET Awards).

Hannah has delivered various lectures at Arts University Bournemouth about inclusive arts practice and has presented research to the British Working Class Art Network, supported by Tate Research, Museum As Muck and the British Museum.

Fantastic Art for Wellbeing Workshops! Rated 5 out of 5
Really fun and encouraging, gentle and cheerfull, Hannah is engaging and supportive. It's a twice weekly pick-me-up and an opportunity to try arts & crafts for the first time.
