Waveney Valley Canoe Club

We are a volunteer canoe club based at Bungay Staithe offering the opportunity to try paddling for the first time or to further develop skills, to meet other paddlers, and to learn more about being safe on the river. The Club has experienced coaches and offer a range of paddling experiences: kayak and canoe on sheltered water and further afield on moving water or even sea kayaking.

If you want to find out more or discover if this is for you, we offer taster sessions which you can book on our website.

We have social paddles whatever your experience level, plus courses which tend to run from May to July.

Notes

Our home is the Suffolk town of Bungay (England) where we are blessed with the River Waveney on our doorstep. The club has signed up to the Anglian Water Rivercare scheme and we have adopted our local stretch of the river to maintain a clean pollution free waterway. In addition to paddling the Waveney the Club regularly paddles local coastlines and rivers such as the Broads and further away in places particularly where there is whitewater. The Club offers a variety of activities including; Touring Trips, Whitewater activities, Sea Kayaking, Racing, Open Canoeing, and Polo. In the summer months the we offer British Canoe Union accredited skills courses on the Waveney from beginner to the more advanced levels. All of the Club activities are supervised by BCU Qualified coaches who are all unpaid volunteers.
