Debenham Shed

General Details

Debenham Shed is a Men's Shed for Debenham - but we have women as well.

We are affliated to the UK Men's Shed Association. Men’s Sheds (or Sheds) are similar to garden sheds – a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice skills and enjoy making and mending. The difference is that garden sheds and their activities are often solitary in nature while Men’s Sheds are the opposite. They’re about social connections and friendship building, sharing skills and knowledge, and of course a lot of laughter. And tea/coffee and cakes often.

We have workshop facilities for men and women to work on their own or community projects,  to promote social inclusion, friendships, social engagement and skill sharing in a safe and enjoyable environment. A variety of woodworking and metalworking hand and power tools are available.  In particular the Shed aims to improve mental health for retired men and women who would otherwise suffer from loneliness and isolation.

You are welcome to visit us and have a look around.
