Friends of the Ipswich Museums (FoIM)
We’re Friends and supporters of all the Ipswich Museums and we operate as a charity.
We support Christchurch Mansion (including the Wolsey Art Gallery), Ipswich Museum and the Ipswich Art School. Ipswich Museum in the High Street is currently closed for refurbishment until 2025.
We give practical and financial support to the museums, and we enjoy the company of like-minded enthusiasts. We organise talks, trips and parties for friends and their guests.
Through our activities we seek to promote, maintain and enhance these sites but above all we aim to continue to enjoy them. We enjoy the Ipswich museums and support them by raising funds from membership fees and special events; we then redistribute the money to varying museum projects. Sometimes we initiate the projects but mostly we respond to suggestions from the Museum Service.
Short daily tours
Join us for a free 30 minute ‘Peep into the Past’ tour at Christchurch Mansion – No booking required weekdays at 11 am, Sundays 2pm. Peeps into the Past run from March to November. These are free but are not suitable for large groups. Donations are welcome.
