About The Albany
The Albany is a Secondary Provision
We have grown. Our Bury St Edmunds site has been developed to enable the expansion to include Key Stage 3. So, our community now includes Years 7 to 9, as well as Years 10 and 11. This enables new relationships to be formed over a longer period of time and an opportunity to work alongside our schools to help our students reintegrate into their home school and be successful. Ofsted recognised that we
‘tailor … (our) … provision in response to the needs of … (our) … community to provide a very good quality of education and care.’
We are excited to be extending this high quality education to a wider network of children and young people and their families.
Specialist SEMH Provision
In addition to 12 KS3 PRU places, where students coming to The Albany are looking to return back to their original or an alternate secondary school, The Albany is commissioned to deliver 8 places in KS3 for students with complex SEMH needs who may remain with us for a longer period of time before reintegrating to a secondary setting or transitioning to our KS4 offer.
We are also now commissioned to deliver 8 places in KS4 for students with complex SEMH needs.
Our students are grouped in classes tailored to their needs with a maximum of 8 students in a class.
Our school is set in grounds that include a woodland area, a wildlife area with pond, basketball/5-a-side-football area, field for outdoor sports and an outdoor classroom (built by our students).
For further information about the school please see the school's website.
This provider was Quality Assured in 2015 and is now an approved provider by Suffolk County Council's Quality Assurance and Provider Development Team - find out more here.
