The Child and Family Psychology service is one of the specialist services provided by Integrated Community Paediatric Services.

The service is a highly specialist  psychological assessment and intervention service and is only available for children/young people who are known to other professionals in Integrated Community Paediatric Services.

The team provide services across five key pathways to children and families with a range of different concerns including complex developmental, behavioural or learning problems.  They also provide support for families who may be struggling with forming relationships or understanding/adjusting to their diagnosis or neuro developmental needs. 

The service offered is a time limited provision using an assessment, formulation and intervention approach drawing on a range of psychological models.

All Clinical Psychologists working in the service are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and maintain professional standards outlined by the British Psychological Society.

Integrated Community Paediatric Services provides support for children and young people with a range of additional needs, some of which are complex. Professionals within the Child and Family Psychology Service contribute to the Education Health and Care Plan assessment process where appropriate, and support the multi-disciplinary team in supporting children/young people and families where specific needs have been identified.  All our staff are aware of the SEND reforms and are active participants where children/young people are known to their services.
