Aldringham Cum Thorpe Good Neighbour Scheme

Help can be provided for transport, small domestic jobs, collection of prescriptions, pensions, letter writing and befriending, and more to parishioners within Aldringham cum Thorpe. Help is available for over 18s; if possible forty-eight hours' notice would be appreciated. A small mileage fee (currently 45p per mile) will be charged to cover volunteer’s fuel costs.

Each scheme centres on a mobile phone that is held on a rota basis by members of the core group of volunteers, usually for a week or two at a time. The number of the phone is publicised throughout the parish and every resident has the right to make use of the scheme regardless of age or state of health.
