Help can be provided for transport, small domestic jobs, collection of prescriptions, pensions, letter writing and befriending, and more. Help is available for over 18s; if possible forty-eight hours' notice would be appreciated. A small mileage fee will be charged to cover volunteer’s fuel costs.

Each scheme centres on a mobile phone that is held on a rota basis by members of the core group of volunteers, usually for a week or two at a time. The number of the phone is publicised throughout the parish and every resident has the right to make use of the scheme regardless of age or state of health.
