Art Branches

Art Branches

Art Branches was set up in 2015 to improve peoples’ health and wellbeing through creative projects linked to the environment. Our projects take place across Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

There is established evidence that the arts can have a significant effect on emotional wellbeing and mental health. We believe that being part of a creative community can contribute significantly to the recovery of wellbeing and lead to a confident re-engagement in life.

Art Branches run 4-6 weeks long social prescriptions in outdoor settings; as well as one off wellbeing workshops and pop up events. Workshops are open to people recovering from a period of emotional distress and to those who are drawn to the arts as an antidote to the sometimes overwhelming stresses of life.

All workshops are led by professional artists with experience in working with clients with mental health difficulties. They may be assisted by peer supporting volunteers. The workshops are varied in nature and include photography, drawing skills, poetry, painting, collage, exploring history and creative journaling.
