Beccles and District Historical Society

General Details

Beccles and District Historical Society was founded in 1927.

Each year we organise a number of excursions to places of historical interest. For several years at least one of the excursions has been a short residential. In 2016 our residential was to Ironbridge, visiting Kenilworth Castle en route; and we are planning a visit to Northumberland in 2017.

We provide a programme of evening talks from October to April (omitting January), held at Hungate Church in Beccles. Non-members may attend the talks for a small charge.

We are keen to work with local organisations with an interest in history.

We welcome new members.
