Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

Both the Nursery Manager and Deputy are accredited SENCO's for the setting.

All staff members hold qualifications some of which are level 6 trained in childcare and hold an EYTS. All staff are trained in first aid and some on Epi-pens and inhalers.

The setting has many years of experience with different levels and forms of SEN and base planning around ALL children's current interests and needs and can adapt provision where needed or possible.

Staff have regular input to IEP's, social interaction sessions and carry out any additional work provided by SALT. Some members are makaton trained and this is used in the setting alongside communication books.

Provision mapping for children with SEN is updated and modified regularly to adapt to children's level of progress and interests.

We have close links to all outside professionals and meetings are attended regularly to ensure the care of the children/child is at the highest level.

The setting works well to make reasonable adjustments to ensure the service we provide is accessible to children with disabilities
