Suffolk Young Carers

General Details

Suffolk Family Carers is a voluntary organisation, and a charity, offering information, support and advocacy to people who, without payment, provide help and support to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour, who could not manage without their help.

This could be due to age, physical or mental illness, addiction or disability. Suffolk Family Carers have four core Teams - Community Information and Guidance Service, Mental Health, Young Carers and Young Adult Carers - as well as various other smaller projects providing support to Family Carers in Suffolk..

Our Young Carers direct line, 01473 835430, is open Monday through until Thursday from 9am - 4.30pm. Our Young Carers social clubs run in evenings across the county but again would be accessed via our main Claydon office.

Aimed at young people aged 9-24 who undertake a caring role within their family or are affected by someone in their family who needs to be cared for due to any illness, disability or substance misuse. Our service is free and provides Young Carers and Young Adult Carers with someone to talk to, someone to act as their advocate and opportunities to access respite away from their caring role.
