Research centre which covers East Anglia including some material on Cambridgeshire, Essex and Norfolk, the former West Suffolk and the locality of Bury St Edmunds. Talks and courses on local history and research skills.
Also there is a room for hire, seating for up to 25 people with flip chart, white board and internet connection available. Limited availabilty during term time. Please contact us to check dates.

Holds original records telling the story of Suffolk and its people, as well as extensive collections of books, periodicals, newspapers, maps and press cuttings on local studies. Includes the library of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology, with runs of general archaeological journals, e.g. 'Archaeologia' (1770 to date). Special collection: Cullum Collection, a gentleman's library including a complete set of 'Gentlemans Magazine'. Services: Reference only, photocopies and digital copies available.
