SMILE Café is a weekly pop-up cafe, providing refreshments and respite - primarily for Carers and those adults with additional or mental health needs eg dementia, learning disabilities, mental health problems, strokes and head injuries. It is manned by community volunteers and managed by PASTEL CIC.
PASTEL also run the following Clubs:
PASTEL Wellbeing Club which aims to relieve stress, foster self-expression and promote happiness. The club runs weekly on a Friday, for 2 hours (10am to mid-day) at The Fromus Centre, Seaman Avenue, invSaxmundham. The cost, per 2-hour session, is £8.
PASTEL Cooking Club is a place to come and relax in a welcoming setting. We cover food hygiene and preparation, alongside simple cooking of hors d'oeuvres, various breads and pastas as well as cakes and salads in the summer. The cooking is in a small sociable group - learning life skills and making friends at the same time, and is a 3-hour session. Cost is £12.
PASTEL Saturday Youth Club which caters for young adults with learning disabilities, aged 13-26. PASTEL provides a wide range of social, educational & learning, leisure & recreational opportunities. These meaningful and engaging activities offer new experiences to develop people's independence skills and group working. he PASTEL Saturday Club runs on the 1& 3rd Saturdays of every month, from 10.30am to 3.30pm, at the Fromus Centre.
Costs of PASTEL Clubs covers the professional tutor, room hire, refreshments, the cooking ingredients and admin expenses. Free “taster sessions” are available.
