Age Groups

Museums provide loan boxes of objects for reminiscence work, which are loaned out directly to residential or day care settings or indirectly via a variety of facilitating organisations for use e.g. by carers groups or one-to-one work in people’s homes. In one or two instances museums have volunteers who are willing to accompany the loan boxes, otherwise collection arrangements have to be made by the borrower. There is usually a small charge for the loan. The Rekindling Memories at Home suitcases are currently provided at no charge to the Alzheimer’s Society, Suffolk Age UK and Waveney Crossroads Carers. Other organisations carrying out this kind of work are always welcome to approach us.
