*September 2018 update* - A fire has meant that the venue is unusable as we plan and implement its rebuild.
A significant venture for the River Stour Trust that was part-funded by the Millennium Commission as an extension to the funding awarded to build Great Cornard Lock. The venue is used to promote the River Stour Navigation, its importance in Britain’s industrial and cultural heritage, and the Trust’s own role in promoting use of this historic waterway.
It houses our administrative office and archival records that will provide resources for schools, students and researchers. It is a destination for walkers, cyclists and boaters with a footpath and cycleway running alongside the river from the main road and the recent opening (in December 2018) of a riverside footpath between Sudbury and Great Cornard enabling easy access and pleasant surroundings between these locations.
