We are still open and operational. Help us get food to vulnerable people
We are now open. FareShare, the UKs largest food redistribution charity, has established a new Regional Centre in Ipswich.
Receiving in-date surplus food from food companies, including retailers and manufacturers, and redistributing it to local charities and community groups across homeless hostels, breakfast clubs, lunch clubs for older people and domestic violence refuges.
Based at Unit 2, Alston Court, Leslie Road Ipswich, IP3 9PL, FareShare East Anglia is FareShare's twenty-first UK Regional Centre. This year alone we redistributed enough good quality surplus food to help create 28.6 million meals for vulnerable people across the UK
We are tremendously excited about the launch of FareShare East Anglia from which, in coming months we aim to support charities and community groups across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. With this operation, we will be able to reach new areas in the UK and support more people with good food that would otherwise have gone to waste.
To help make sure this project is a success we are calling out for support and input from across the East Anglia community:
- Charities and community groups across East Anglia who may be interested in receiving food from FareShare
- Volunteers to be Food Heroes at our Regional Centre (drivers, customer service, warehouse helpers)
- Food businesses who may have surplus food they want to put to good use
- Other businesses who may be able to help (e.g. corporate volunteering, funding, etc.)
FareShare East Anglia is managed and run by FareShare but our vision is to run this service in partnership with the community it serves, so please do get in contact if you would like to find out more.
