Police Cadets and Emergency Services Cadets (Fire Service)

Suffolk Police’s volunteer police cadets and Emergency Services Cadets are an important part of the extended police / fire family.
Suffolk Constabulary is committed to engaging with children and young people to ensure that they have the opportunity to lead rewarding and productive lives. Young people have a lot to offer the community and the police service.
Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire Service are now collaborating the running of our cadet scheme. Some units run as Police Cadets and some as Emergency Services Cadets.
Our Motto is "It's not where you've come from; it's where you're going that counts"
We have 8 Units across Suffolk:

- Notes
Safer Neighbourhood Teams have identified that young people hanging around is still one of the highest public concerns around anti-social behavior. We can tackle this with meaningfully intervention through Volunteer Police Cadet (VPC) schemes. Seeing young people in a positive way can go a long way to reduce the fear of youths on our streets to the general public. The sessions will be led by a trained facilitator and supported by Out & About’s volunteers. Volunteers are fully CRB checked and are trained in assisting with personal care, administering medication, mobility assistance, communication, disability awareness and managing challenging behavior.
