Notes

The boat is a Norfolk & Suffolk Class Lifeboat of 44ft length that was built by Beeching in Great Yarmouth. She operated off the beach at Southwold and saved many lives. Relatives of the crew are still alive in Southwold. The museum also contains many artefacts, paintings and models that exemplify the maritime history of the area and it is all absolutely FREE to come in and browse. However, please note that we could not continue without donations to cover our expenses. Pre-booking is advisable for large parties. The boat is on the register of historic ships of the United Kingdom English Heritage. The shed was a Grade II listed building when in place on Cromer pier.
