St Mary's Church, Bures

St Mary's Bures is one of three churches which make up our benefice and occupies an old 14th century building in the centre of the village. It has been well maintained, and there have been alterations to the tower to make rooms for Young Church groups, meetings, crèche, etc. We have two Sunday services, 8am. using the Book of Common Prayer and the main one at 10.30am.

The music is provided either by an organ with choir or by a music group - or usually both. The exception is the second Sunday of the month when we have three services, 8am., 10.30am. and an informal service known as 'Second Sunday' which starts with coffee and pastries at 10 for 10.30am. and is held in the school hall.

If you are not familiar with church, this service is the one for you. Once a term we have an evening of informal worship 'Come Together'. Throughout the week there are also morning meetings, mother and baby days and many other events.
