Anglia Care Trust - Independent Advice

Anglia Care Trust

Independent Advice is a service provided by Anglia Care Trust to support young people to stay in higher/further education and training and to improve their levels of achievement.

The service matches a volunteer with a young person with the aim to offer support and guidance on a one to one basis. Independent Advice is carried out through weekly or fortnightly contact whether that be face to face or via telephone, and will continue for anything from 3 to 18 months, depending on the needs of the young person. A key benefit of an Independent Advice relationship is that the young person receives one to one time with an experienced independent person that they can trust. Goals will be identified at the beginning of the relationship and the volunteer will then work with the young person to progress towards meeting their personal objectives and remaining in education.

The Independent Advice service is available to young people who:

  • Are in Secondary or Further education (usually between the ages 11-19)
  • Live in the Suffolk area
  • Are identified as requiring support to remain in education
  • Are willing and able to engage with the service and keep regular contact with their Independent Adviser
