General Details

Suffolk Family Carers is a charity based in Claydon that works with Family Carers across Suffolk, providing support and guidance. A Family Carer is someone of any age whose life is restricted because they are looking after another person who cannot manage without help because of illness, age related frailty, mental health need, substance misuse or disability. Family Carers are not paid and do not always live with the person they care for. They may be caring for a friend, neighbour or relative.

Suffolk Family Carers Information Line is open Monday to Friday, 9am - 4.30pm, and Tuesday, 9am - 7.30pm. 01473 835477.

Notes: All our projects involve volunteers in their work supporting Family Carers. Our roles include providing Telephone Befriending to Family Carers on a regular basis, helping out at Family Carer Groups, becoming a Family Carer Champion, working on our Information Line, helping with administration on an “ad hoc” basis or as a regular commitment, running or helping organise events for us, and fundraising.
