Hollesley Community Nursery

Day nursery

The Hollesley community nursery, previously Hollesley Pre- School has opened their doors to old and new children in the surrounding area in September 2017.

The nursery is part of Alpha Community Nurseries and is group of small community based nurseries offering high quality, home from home child care and benefits from being part of a small group with an extended network but retains its own individual identity and community feel.

Hollesley Community nursery is located on the grounds of Hollesley primary School. Hollesley is a small village of old and new. The local church is just around the corner to the nursery.

There is a recreation ground, and woods to enhance the children’s learning. The staff often going on nature walks and exploring the environment.

The Nursery is adjacent to the main “feeder” schools, Hollesley Primary School and have a very close links with the schools to ensure a smooth transition to school for the children.

Hollesley Community Nursery is a purpose-built room, and is able to accommodate a maximum of 24 children age 2-5years. We have a secure garden, the gate is always locked during session times, and the garden is accessed by the children at all times and during all weathers.

At Hollesley Community nursery, we feel that the children benefit greatly from learning through the outdoors and that this further enhances the children’s development. The nursery also has close links with the local Children’s centre and we work closely with other childcare professionals, including Health Visitors.

Hollesley Community Nursery provide a nurturing environment that encourages development and achievement, in close partnership with parents. Every child is valued as an individual, and all activities we offer are based on their individual needs, age, and stage of development.

The Nursery is all inclusive, and we are able to offer support and specific help to those children that have specific learning needs and English as a second language. Staff are trained in Special Education Needs. All staff are trained to Level 3 or above, all staff are paediatric first aid trained and all have a food health and safety certificate. We also have a designated safe guarding lead and a named SENCO to ensure safety and equality at all times. Staff are required to attend regular training, we feel that by enhancing our own learning, we can give the children the best start in education.

At Hollesley Community Nursery, we realise that parents are the first and most important educators in their child’s life, as such it is of paramount importance to us that we endeavour to build strong relationships between home and nursery and ensure that parents are consulted regarding the development and learning of their child
