Managers Profile
As the manager of Rendlesham Care Centre I enjoy nothing more than meeting new people and listening to the stories they have to tell. Everyone is different and this should be reflected in the care they are given. I want to ensure that both the care teams and residents at Rendlesham are happy living and working here. Rendlesham is a lovely home with a real family feel created by the care team and residents that live and work here.
I have been a nurse for over 31 years working in both the NHS and Social Services, with a background in Learning Disabilities and mental health. However for the past 13 years I have worked in the community as an Area Manager providing home care to older people. Whilst working with social services I was involved in supporting people to move on from a care home into individual housing to meet their needs. This was my stepping stone to working in care homes.
Keeping a close relationship with the local authorities and doctor’s surgeries is very important. We continuously improve the lives of our residents through offering wide ranging activities and events both in and outside of the home, involving members of the local community wherever possible.
I have lived in Brantham for over 20 years and have three grown up children who enjoy my passion for cake making. I get to see my youngest over the holidays on his return from University and enjoy visits from all three of my children.
