(Suffolk County Council) Location: Half mile south of Brandon on B1106 . Tree trail. Forest walks and an Orienteering and History course. Off road mountain bike/cycle trail. School curriculum pack now available, school visits are free. Forest play area. NB Brandon Country Park is a small part of what was once a large Breckland estate acquired by Edward Bliss in 1821, along with the title of Lord of the Manor of Brandon. Although no longer part of the Country Park, the former Brandon Park House (built 1826 by Edward Bliss) forms an important visual backdrop to the lawn and lake. It is now a nursing home. There is also a mausoleum and a walled garden. This was once the kitchen garden for Brandon Park House and was opened to the public in 1989. The visitor centre has been developed to include, a tea room, sales and natural heritage interpretation area.
