2 Fields Farm - A Community Supported Farm near Debenham

2 fields photo

2 Fields is growing local food for local people & with local people.

The activities are mostly community led with a 'Pig Club', 'Beef Club', Bee club, Vegetable team and 'The Debenham Shed', for local skills sharing, re-purposing and 'Tools with a Mission' - collection point for tools for Africa.

We have a Community Tree Nursery for growing local trees from local seed to increase the tree canopy cover around Debenham and surrounding villages.

We 'grow with nature' - we add nothing; we grow green manure and use rotation, companion planting and diverse cropping which helps to build healthy soils. We are developing our resilience to withstand the shocks of extremes of weather due to climate chaos. We use Permaculture Principles of Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share.

We have land in 'Agro-forestry' using fruit & nut trees, a Traditional Orchard of grafted Suffolk heritage fruit tree varieties, a Forest Garden with edible, medicinal and useful products, a woodland for future woodfuel and wood-working. We also have 6 paddocks used on short rotation by the livestock to ensure optimum growth & health. 2 Fields has a resident flock of registered Shetland Sheep as well as summer visits from the piglets and calves.

2 Fields Farm incorporates 'Permaculture Principles' - Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share.

We encourage local people to become involved in growing food and sharing skills & knowledge. Making local connections and building our local support networks.
