My Guide Sighted Guiding Service

General Details

My Guide is a free service provided by Guide Dogs for the Blind, that helps people with visual impairment get out of their homes and into their community with a fully trained volunteer as their sighted guide. The service is available to anyone who is blind or visually impaired, they do not have to be an existing Guide Dogs service user.

Sighted guiding helps to build confidence, increase social interaction and access to a range of activities that people may be interested in.

There are many benefits to a My Guide partnership including choosing the things you want to do and working to improve independence; taking part in social and leisure activities; getting out and about for a walk to improve fitness; accessing local community activities; making new friends or perhaps just visiting a local café for coffee and cake.

If you are blind or have a visual impairment, contact us on 0118 983 8741 to find out if the service is right for you.
