Community Perinatal Mental Health Team - Norfolk and Waveney

NSFT logo

We provide specialist community mental health support for women (aged 18+) who experience moderate to severe mental health difficulties relating to the perinatal period (this is the time during pregnancy and up to baby being one year of age). We also support women who are currently well but have previously experienced a serious mental difficulty in themselves or a first degree relative.

We work closely with midwives, health visitors, GP's, family nurses, mental health teams, Wellbeing, GMOTFW, Children's Centres and many other agencies and professional organisations. The Perinatal CMHT has just launched The Lotus Team, which will be providing therapy and support to women who have experienced birth traumas, have had miscarriages or who have had their babies removed by Social Services.

Our multidisciplinary team includes Mental Health Nurse practitioners, Health Visitors, Specialist Midwives, Non-Medical Nurse prescribers, Consultant Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Occupational therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Nursery Nurses, Peer Support Workers, Management and Business personnel.

Home visits are provided by this service.

Interpretation and translation services can be arranged by staff, for users of this service.
