Framework provider of day, evening and weekend activities for people with learning disabilities and autism
Re-Create Social Enterprises Limited is a not for profit organisation based in Ipswich. We offer therapeutic work based activities for learning disabled adults, disadvantaged people and young learning disabled people in transition, in a safe supported environment.
We collect surplus stock, unwanted items such as card, paper, film, foil, fabric, ribbon, buttons, sequin waste, bottles, containers and a whole host of unique items from local businesses. Our attendees then process these items to produce art and crafts materials.
The items we produce are then sold in our onsite shop. Our customers include schools, playgroups, drama groups, artist and all manner of crafters. We offer these items at a fraction of the cost of buying new which benefits all of our customers, saves companies landfill costs and the income from sales helps fund equipment and our activity program which includes: Sorting, trimming, shredding, stock control, customer service, till training, packaging, making items to sell in our shop front, using manual equipment such as guillotines, die cutting machines, book binders and other safe cutting tools. Our activities promote communication, literacy, numeracy, team work, social skills and person skills. All activities and progress are tracked in accessible workbooks which are filled in everyday, allowing time for reflection on the days activities and achievements.
