Gentle - Seated Yoga
Residents of Woodbridge and the surrounding area will be able to access a new free, weekly 60-minute seated exercise and relaxation class at Woodbridge Community Hall. Aptly named Gentle, sessions will offer the chance for people with all levels of mobility or fitness to engage with their bodies in a safe, supportive and encouraging environment.
The sessions will be led by Imogen Hayward, a Hatha yoga teacher specialising in seated yoga. Imogen believes “bringing back movement to the body is incredibly beneficial”, and that yoga should be accessible to everybody.
She is especially looking forward to welcoming complete beginners to the classes which she has carefully designed to promote self-care whilst improving physical and mental wellbeing. Participants will be led through a gentle movement and class to relaxing music, with all activity taking place seated on a chair. There will also be time to unwind and connect socially over a cuppa after the activity.
No special equipment or exercise-wear necessary. All sessions are completely FREE, and no booking required. The activity is funded by Suffolk County Council and run by Cohere Arts, an organisation on a mission to improve health and well-being through engagement with arts and heritage
